Approved to treat severe frown lines between the eyebrows in 2002, Botox Cosmetic® has consistently ranked as one of the most popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedures in the United States.
Along with its effective treatment of eyebrow frown lines, Botox is also a powerful yet subtle treatment for crow’s feet, frown lines, and furrows in the forehead. It is also being studied to treat a variety of other medical conditions, ranging from migraines to arthritis.
When to Consider Botox
Ideal Botox candidates are healthy individuals who are motivated to improve their appearance. Botox may be an excellent treatment for:

Certain health conditions may lead to complications with Botox injections, so it is important to discuss your full medical history during the initial consultation.
FAQ
What are the steps of Botox?
Multiple injection locations are first determined for each treatment area, and the locations are clearly marked. The treatment area is then cleaned and treated with antiseptic ointment. A local anesthetic or topical numbing cream may be used to reduce discomfort. The filler is then injected beneath the skin at the marked locations.
How long is recovery?
In most cases, you should be able to immediately resume your normal activities. There is little to no recovery period. There may be visible weakness or droopiness in the treatment area, which typically resolves in the first few days.
Is there scarring?
With the very thin needles used in this procedure, there is typically no visible scarring as a result of injections.
How will I feel after the procedure?
Generally, there is minimal discomfort following Botox injections, but some pain may occur as a rare side effect for the first few days. This can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication.
Are there any possible complications?
Rare side effects of injections include nausea, headache, redness, and pain at the injection site. These risks will be discussed in-depth during the consultation process.
