3-D nipple-tattooing restores the appearance of a natural nipple and areola, which is the area of darker skin surrounding the nipple. Using a 3-D tattooing technique, it’s possible to make the nipple appear remarkably genuine.
Nipple-areola restoration provides a focal point of the breast mound that reduces the appearance of scar lines in the reconstructed breast.
Understanding 3-D Tattooing
3-D tattooing is different from regular tattooing because it utilizes shadows, highlighting, and dimensional shading. This creates the illusion of depth and texture.
The 3-D Nipple-Areola Tattooing Process
During a 3-D nipple and areola tattooing, our experienced aesthetician Paula will work with the patient to determine size, placement and color of the new areolas.
Then, she will insert pigment under the dermis to create a beautiful, natural-looking nipple-areola. The dermis is located just beneath the outermost layer of the skin (the epidermis). The pigment used in 3-D nipple-tattooing is permanent and a 4 week touch up is included in the pricing.
