FAQ
What are the steps of the treatment?
Prior to the procedure, one or more injection locations will be determined for each treatment area. The locations will be cleaned, antiseptic applied and a topical anesthetic administered. The necessary amount of injection material is determined and injected beneath the skin. The filler adheres to the skin and retains water to boost volume.
What is recovery like following the procedure?
Results of the injections may be obscured for the first few days due to swelling. As the swelling goes down, they should become clear within one week. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately, but should avoid the sun for the first few weeks to protect the treated areas.
How will I feel after the procedure?
There may be some discomfort due to swelling in the days following the procedure. This discomfort is typically minimal, but may be controlled with medication if necessary.
Are there any possible side effects with Restylane?
This procedure may cause headaches, nausea, muscle weakness and pain at the injection locations. We will fully review the possible side effects with you during your consultation.
