What are the steps of the endoscopic brow lift procedure?
Prior to your procedure, general anesthesia or intravenous sedation will be administered to ensure comfort. Your surgeon will begin by making several small incisions behind the hairline. An endoscope (a small light with a camera attached to it) is then inserted through the incisions to create a clearer picture of the underlying structures of the forehead. Using another instrument, your surgeon will remove or reshape the underlying tissue and muscle to create a smoother appearance. The incisions are then closed with fine sutures.
How long does recovery take following the procedure?
A bandage is typically applied immediately after the surgery to decrease swelling and bruising. A tube may be inserted to drain any fluid that builds up during the healing process. The head may be kept elevated and ice packs applied for decreased swelling. While it may be hard to see results immediately, they should become more clear as the swelling subsides over the next few weeks. The stitches are typically removed after about a week, at which time makeup may be worn on the area. The face should be protected from sun and accidental impacts for the next few months to ensure proper healing.

The incisions made during an endoscopic brow lift are purposely placed back in the hairline for minimal visibility, and are significantly smaller than those made during a traditional brow lift. Very fine sutures are used for the lightest possible incisions lines, which will fade gradually over the course of six months.

A moderate amount of pain is to be expected, and may be controlled with prescription pain medication. Often patients experience a tightness in the treatment area due to swelling caused by tissue adjustment. This will dissipate as the swelling gradually subsides.
Are there any possible complications?
With the endoscopic brow lift, there is a slight chance of scarring, asymmetry and irregular pigmentation. As in other surgical procedures, there is a low risk of infection, bleeding and poor wound healing. All risks will be discussed in depth during the consultation process.
